NGO DARPAN is mandatory for accessing central government grants, CSR funding, and FCRA clearance. The portal is managed by NITI Aayog and serves as the unified database for all NGOs in India. Registration is free and completely online.
What is NGO DARPAN?
DARPAN (Drug Abuse and Rehabilitation Programme for Adolescents in Need) was the original initiative, but the NGO DARPAN portal under NITI Aayog is much broader — it creates a unified database of all NGOs/Trusts/Societies in India seeking government funding.
As of May 2026, over 1.5 crore NGOs have registered on the portal. Without DARPAN ID, your organization cannot apply for central government grants, receive CSR funds from companies, or get FCRA clearance for foreign funding.
