What is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi?
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a central government scheme that gives small and marginal farmers a direct financial benefit of ₹6,000 per year — paid in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. The money goes straight into the farmer's bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Launched in February 2019, the scheme has so far covered over 11 crore farmers across India. No middlemen, no paperwork hassles — just Aadhaar verification and a linked bank account.

How to Check PM Kisan Beneficiary Status Online
Checking your status takes less than 2 minutes. Here's exactly how to do it:
- Go to pmkisan.gov.in
- Click on "Farmers Corner" in the top menu
- Select "Beneficiary Status"
- Enter your Aadhaar number or mobile number or account number
- Click "Get Data"
- Your payment history and status will appear on screen
If you see "Payment Success" — the money has been credited. If it shows "FTO is generated" — it's in process and will reach your account within 3–5 working days.
eKYC is Mandatory — Don't Skip It
This is the number one reason farmers miss their installment. The government made eKYC compulsory for all PM Kisan beneficiaries. If you haven't done it, your payment will be withheld — even if you're eligible.
How to complete PM Kisan eKYC online:
- Visit pmkisan.gov.in
- Go to Farmers Corner → click "eKYC"
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number
- Click Search, then enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number
- Click "Get OTP" — enter the OTP received
- Click Submit — done!
You can also do biometric eKYC at your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) if OTP-based doesn't work.

Who is Eligible for PM Kisan?
The scheme is for small and marginal farmer families who own cultivable land. To be eligible:
- You must be an Indian farmer with land in your name
- You must have a bank account linked to Aadhaar
- eKYC must be completed
Not eligible: Institutional landholders, former/current government employees, income tax payees, doctors, engineers, lawyers, architects — even if they own farmland.
When is the 23rd Installment Coming?
PM Kisan releases three installments a year — April–July, August–November, and December–March. Based on this cycle, the 23rd installment is expected in June–July 2026. No official date has been announced yet. Keep your eKYC updated and bank details correct so you don't miss it.
