Ayushman Card Hospital List (2025)
Ayushman Card Hospital List 2026 searches are useful only when the source, date and hospital status are clear. The National Health Authority hospital search lets a reader narrow results by State, District, Hospital Type, Speciality, Hospital Name and Empanelment Type.
This guide uses the official hospital-search pages and a Ministry of Health and Family Welfare update published through the Press Information Bureau. It explains how to find a result, how to treat the March 2026 national count, and why a search result still needs confirmation before travel or treatment.
Empanelment, beneficiary eligibility, package approval and same-day service are different checks. A hospital may also change status as State and Union Territory authorities continue the empanelment process. Use the official page and the hospital help desk for the final case-specific confirmation.

What Is the Official PM-JAY Hospital List?
The official list is the search result produced by the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY hospital-search service. The registered search page identifies itself as a search for empanelled hospitals and provides filters for a more specific result. It is more useful than a static social-media list because the user can select a location and service category.
Open the registered search route at hospitals.pmjay.gov.in registered hospital search. The page asks the user to select the search fields and enter the visible captcha before using Search. This article does not submit the form or request personal information.
A result should be treated as a starting point for verification. Record the hospital name, location, hospital ID if shown, selected speciality and the date of the search. Then call the hospital or the official support channel before travelling.
| Item to record | Why it matters | Safe action |
|---|---|---|
| State and District | Limits the geographic result | Choose the exact treatment location |
| Hospital name | Separates similar facilities | Match the official result with the hospital signboard |
| Speciality | Shows the service filter used | Confirm the required package with the hospital |
| Search date | Status can change over time | Repeat the check before planned treatment |
What Did the Latest Dated National Count Show?
A Ministry of Health and Family Welfare update posted by PIB on March 23, 2026 stated that AB-PMJAY had 36,229 empanelled hospitals as on February 28, 2026. The breakdown in that release was 19,483 public hospitals and 16,746 private hospitals.
The figure is useful context for the protected title, which contains 25,000-plus. It is not an August 2026 live total. The PIB release itself explains that hospital empanelment is a continuous process led by the implementing State or Union Territory. Do not copy the dated figure into a current local claim without its date.
The count also does not mean that every hospital provides every package. It does not show which hospital is closest to a particular address, whether a speciality slot is open, or whether a beneficiary’s specific treatment is approved. Those questions require a search and direct confirmation.
For comparison, the data-reading guide explains why a number should retain its date, unit and source when it is reused. The same rule applies to a hospital-network count.
How Do You Open the Official Hospital Search?
Use the registered hospital-search URL rather than a third-party page that asks for personal information. The official page presents a Hospitals Search section and links to a separate Suspended Hospitals List. If the page is slow or unavailable, do not use an unsecured copy or upload identity documents to an unknown domain.
The registered route presents State and District selectors first. It then provides Hospital Type, Speciality, Hospital Name and Empanelment Type selectors. A captcha appears before the Search and Reset controls. Some selector values may depend on the choice made earlier, so select the location before narrowing the service.
Save the official URL and search date in your notes. A screenshot can help with a travel plan, but the screenshot does not make the status permanent. Recheck the result when the visit is near and ask the hospital to confirm PM-JAY reception and the needed treatment package.
How Do You Search by State and District?
Start by selecting the State where treatment is sought. Then select the District shown for that State. A district name alone is not enough because different States can contain districts with similar names and because a hospital may be outside the patient’s home district.
After selecting the location, keep the rest of the search narrow enough to be useful. If the result is empty, remove one filter at a time and search again. An empty result can reflect a spelling, location, speciality or filter issue. It is not proof that no PM-JAY hospital exists anywhere in the State.
Portability and local implementation rules can affect the practical process. Ask the hospital’s Ayushman help desk whether the intended treatment can be processed there and what documents are needed. The official search result should be the reference point for the facility name and location.
How Do You Filter Hospital Type and Speciality?
Hospital Type helps distinguish the categories available in the official selector. Speciality narrows the service area. The exact options visible to a user can depend on the page data and selected location, so do not publish an invented list of specialities or assume that a hospital offers every listed category.
Hospital Name can help when a beneficiary already has a referral or local recommendation. Empanelment Type can further narrow the result. Use one filter change at a time and keep a record of the selection that produced the result.
| Filter | Question it answers | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| State | Where is the facility located | That it is the nearest facility |
| District | Which local area should be searched | That every nearby town is included |
| Hospital Type | Which facility category is selected | That the facility offers every package |
| Speciality | Which service category is selected | That a current appointment or bed is available |
| Empanelment Type | Which empanelment category is selected | That a personal claim is approved |
Keep the word “empanelled” tied to the official result. Avoid describing a hospital as approved for a treatment unless the current official record and the hospital confirm the relevant package.
How Should You Read Empanelment and Status?
Empanelment means the facility is included in the scheme’s provider network under the applicable process. It does not replace a beneficiary eligibility check, a treatment package check or confirmation that the required service is available on the intended date.
The result should be read with its exact name, location, status information and search date. If a result contains a hospital ID or contact detail, compare it with the facility’s official communication. Do not rely on a similar name or an old image of a hospital board.
The PIB update states that empanelment is continuous and is undertaken by implementing State and Union Territory authorities. That is why a printed list can become stale. A change in status should be handled through the official search, the hospital desk and the grievance route where appropriate.
What Is the Suspended Hospitals Search?
The official suspended-hospital page is a separate route linked from the registered search. It provides fields for Hospital ID, State, District and Application Status. The visible application-status choices include Suspension, Continuation of Suspension, DE-list and DE-Empanelment of Hospital.
Open the official suspended-hospital search when a result needs a status check. A suspended or de-empanelled result should not be treated as an ordinary active option. Ask the State agency or PM-JAY support channel for the correct next step.
The existence of a status option does not mean that every hospital appears there or that the page is a substitute for the registered search. Use both routes when the hospital name, ID or local information raises a question.
Does Empanelment Guarantee Treatment?
No. The PIB release says that eligible beneficiaries can avail treatment through the network and that empanelled hospitals cannot deny treatment to eligible beneficiaries under the empanelment guidelines. That statement does not remove the need to establish eligibility, confirm the package and follow the hospital’s documented process.
A hospital search result does not by itself prove that the patient is eligible or that the requested procedure is covered. It also does not prove that a specialist, bed, diagnostic facility or treatment slot is available at that moment. Ask the Ayushman help desk before travelling.
Keep claims narrow. Say that the facility appears in the official search for the selected filters on the date checked. Do not say that a result guarantees cashless treatment or automatic approval without the case-specific official confirmation.
How Do You Check Before Travelling?
Before travel, repeat the official search and note the current result. Call the hospital using a contact route independently confirmed from the facility or State agency. Ask whether the hospital is currently handling PM-JAY patients, whether the required speciality and package are available, and which beneficiary documents the help desk needs.
Confirm the hospital name and address rather than using a map result alone. If the facility says that the service is unavailable, ask whether another official empanelled facility is recommended. Record the name and designation of the help-desk contact when it is provided.
| Pre-travel check | Evidence to keep | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Current official search | URL, filters and date | Shows how the facility was found |
| Hospital confirmation | Helpline number or desk note | Tests practical availability |
| Package confirmation | Procedure and speciality details | Separates network status from coverage |
| Route confirmation | Address and arrival instructions | Reduces avoidable travel |
Do not share an Aadhaar number, OTP, bank details or medical documents with a person who contacts you through an unverified message. Use only the details needed through an official channel and keep copies under your control.
What Documents and Details Should You Carry?
The exact document requirement can depend on the beneficiary record, treatment and State process. Ask the hospital help desk for its current list instead of assuming that a generic online checklist is complete. Carry the Ayushman card or beneficiary reference if available and bring relevant medical records for the treating team.
Keep the original documents with you and share copies only through a trusted official process. A hospital search page should not require a reader to publish personal identifiers in a comment or send them to an unknown agent. Hide unnecessary numbers when storing a screenshot for travel.
If a beneficiary record, name or mobile number appears incorrect, use the official support and grievance route. Do not create a second record or pay an intermediary merely because a search result requires clarification.
How Can You Report Denial or Irregularities?
The PIB update states that beneficiaries can register grievances for irregularities or denial of treatment through the Centralized Grievance Redressal Management System or the 24 by 7 toll-free helpline 14555. It also describes grievance monitoring through District, State and National levels.
Write down the hospital name, location, date, department, scheme reference and a short factual account. Keep receipts, acknowledgement numbers and copies of communications. Do not alter a document or post a patient’s personal information publicly while seeking help.
Start with the hospital’s Ayushman desk when safe and practical, then use the official grievance route if the issue is not resolved. The evidence boundary guide is a useful reminder to separate a recorded event from an assumption about its cause. A related Government Schemes guide also shows why identity and account details should be handled through an official route.
| Grievance record | What to note | Privacy rule |
|---|---|---|
| Facility details | Name, address and hospital ID if shown | Do not post personal identifiers publicly |
| Incident details | Date, department and factual issue | Keep the account accurate and brief |
| Scheme details | Beneficiary reference and treatment context | Share only with a trusted official channel |
| Follow-up details | Acknowledgement number and contact route | Store copies under your control |
What Should You Do If the Portal Is Unavailable?
If the official search does not load, try the same official URL later and keep the hospital and State agency contact route available. Do not switch to an unsecured HTTP copy, a shortened link or an agent asking for an OTP. A temporary connection problem is not evidence that a hospital is removed from the scheme.
If you already have a hospital name, call the facility and ask whether its Ayushman desk can confirm the current status. You can also ask the district or State implementing agency for the official search route. Keep the dated PIB count as background only and do not use it to infer a current local roster.
The correct conclusion is practical and limited. The official PM-JAY search provides filters for locating empanelled hospitals, the suspended route provides additional status categories, and the March 2026 PIB release recorded 36,229 hospitals as on February 28, 2026. Current treatment decisions still require an official, case-specific confirmation.
For a general source check, see the research tools guide and the source comparison guide. For an official-scheme verification example, see the district verification guide. These links do not replace the official PM-JAY search or grievance channel.
