Admission Process — Step by Step

The admission process typically runs from February to March each year, using a hybrid online-offline system.

Step 1: Download the Application Form

Forms are released in late February or early March. Download from upbocw.in under the Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya Admission section, or collect a physical copy from your District Labour Office (Zila Shram Karyalay).

Step 2: Fill and Submit the Form

Fill in student details, parent Labour Card number, and contact information. Submit with all required documents at the District Labour Office. Always collect the acknowledgement slip with your application number. The deadline is typically 2–3 weeks after form release.

Step 3: Entrance Test

Selection is through a written entrance test at Class 5 level. Subjects: Hindi, English, Mathematics, and General Knowledge. Duration: 2 hours, MCQ format, no negative marking. Syllabus is based on NCERT Class 5 textbooks. Previous year papers are available on the UP BOCW website.

Step 4: Result and Joining

The merit list is published on upbocw.in within 3–4 weeks of the test. Selected students receive a joining letter with school name, reporting date, and medical checkup details. Original documents are verified at the time of joining.
